Background on the Chesterfield Club – The club opened in Detroit, MI in 1936 and closed in the 1940s.

Operated by Lincoln Fitzgerald and two of his friends, George Weinbrenner and Danny Sullivan, for the Purple Gang. when things started to heat up Fitzgerald left Detroit and went to Nevada where gambling had been legalized and opened the Nevada Club in Reno with Sullivan.

By the way, Chesterfield was Fitzgerald’s brand of cigarettes.
